For ten of the fourteen tools, no. Merge, split, rotate, compress, edit, ID card to PDF, PDF to JPG, JPG to PDF, protect and remove password all run as code inside your browser, so your file stays on your device and is never sent to us.

The four converters (PDF to Word, PDF to Excel, Word to PDF and Excel to PDF) need a conversion engine that is too heavy for a browser. Your file is uploaded over HTTPS, converted, sent back, and the original is deleted immediately. Nothing is stored.

Is PDFMingo really free, and is there a daily limit?

Every tool is free with no sign-up, no email and no daily task limit. Because most of the work happens on your own device instead of our servers, we do not have the running costs that force other sites to meter their free tier.
