PDF tools that respect your privacy
PDFMingo is a growing set of free PDF tools with one big idea behind it: your documents are yours. Most of our tools run entirely inside your own browser, so your file never leaves your device. The few that need real conversion power run on our own secure server and delete your file the moment your download is ready.
Why we built PDFMingo
Most online PDF tools ask you to upload your file to their servers before they will do anything with it. That means your contracts, bank statements, payslips and ID scans end up on a computer you do not control, often kept for "a while" before being deleted. For something as personal as your documents, that never sat right with us.
Modern browsers are powerful enough to do most of that work themselves. So we built PDFMingo to run on your device wherever it can. When you open one of our browser tools, your file is read and processed right there on your screen. Nothing is sent away, nothing is stored, and when you close the tab, nothing is left behind.
A handful of jobs are simply beyond what a browser can do well: turning a PDF into a properly laid out Word or Excel file, converting Office documents to PDF, and rewriting existing text inside a PDF with matching fonts. For those we run our own private conversion server rather than handing your file to a third party. Your file travels over an encrypted connection, gets converted, comes back to you, and is deleted straight away. We never store it, read it or share it.
What you can do here
PDFMingo keeps growing. These tools do all their work inside your browser:
- PDF Editor - add text, shapes, images and signatures, and edit the text already in your PDF.
- PDF Arranger & Merger - merge files, reorder, rotate, crop and delete pages.
- Split PDF - pull out the pages you need or split one PDF into many.
- Rotate PDF - straighten pages that were scanned the wrong way round.
- Compress PDF - shrink large PDFs while keeping the text sharp.
- PDF to JPG - turn pages into high-quality images.
- JPG to PDF - combine your photos and scans into one tidy PDF.
- ID Card to PDF - put the front and back of an ID, or up to six small scans, on one page.
- Protect PDF - add a password so only the right people can open a file.
- Remove Password - clear the password from a PDF you are allowed to open.
And these run on our secure server, then delete your file immediately:
- PDF to Word - get a real editable .docx with your headings, tables and images in place.
- PDF to Excel - pull tables out of a PDF into a spreadsheet you can work with.
- Word to PDF and Excel to PDF - turn Office documents into clean, shareable PDFs.
A couple of PDF Editor features, editing existing PDF text and removing an image background, also use that same server. Everything else in the editor stays in your browser. Our Privacy Policy spells out exactly which tool does what.
What we believe
Privacy is the default

Who runs PDFMingo
PDFMingo is a small independent project, operated from India. There is no big company behind it and no investor asking us to collect data. It is free to use because the browser does most of the work, which keeps our costs low enough to keep it that way.
