Privacy Policy & Compliance

We built PDFMingo so you would not have to trust us with your files. This page explains, in plain English, exactly what that means and the little bit of information we do handle.

Last updated: 5 August 2026

The short version

Who this policy is for

This policy covers pdfmingo.com and all of its tools (PDF Editor, PDF Arranger & Merger, Split PDF, Rotate PDF, Compress PDF, PDF to JPG, JPG to PDF, ID Card to PDF, PDF to Word, PDF to Excel, Word to PDF, Excel to PDF, Protect PDF, Remove Password, and any tools we add later). When we say "we", "us" or "PDFMingo", we mean the team that runs this website. PDFMingo is operated from India, and you can reach us any time at info@mingovex.com. When we say "you", we mean anyone who visits the site.

How your files are handled

For most tools, when you open one and choose a file, that file is loaded and processed locally, in your browser, on your own computer or phone. It is never sent to our servers, never stored, and never seen by us or anyone else. When you close the browser tab, your file and everything we did with it are gone.

Tools and features that use our server

A few operations use our own private server to deliver higher-quality output than a browser alone can. In every case the file travels over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) to convert.pdfmingo.com, is processed there by our own software, is sent back to you, and is deleted from our server immediately. We do not store, log, or share it. No third party ever receives your file.

If you prefer to keep your file entirely off-network, the other tools (Compress, Split, Arrange, Rotate, JPG to PDF, PDF to JPG, ID Card to PDF, Protect, Remove Password) and all other PDF Editor features run locally in your browser with no upload. ID Card to PDF in particular never uploads anything: your ID is cropped and arranged entirely on your own device.

Information we do and do not collect

We do NOT collect

We DO handle a small amount of information

1. Contact form details. If you message us through the Contact page, we receive the name, email address and message you choose to type. We use these only to read and reply to your message. We do not add you to a mailing list and we do not share or sell them.

2. Basic server logs. Like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically records standard technical details when a page is requested, such as your IP address, browser type, and the date and time. These logs help keep the site secure and working, and are kept only for a short period by our host. We do not use them to build a profile of you.

3. Local storage on your device (if any). A tool may remember a small preference, such as your chosen layout size or a replacement font you asked the PDF Editor to always use, by saving it in your own browser's local storage. This never leaves your device and you can clear it any time from your browser settings.

Cookies and tracking

PDFMingo does not use advertising cookies, and we do not run third-party tracking or analytics scripts that follow you around the web. Because we do not set tracking cookies, you will not see a cookie-consent banner asking to track you, there is nothing to consent to.

Third-party services we rely on

To keep the site fast and free, a few trusted third parties help deliver it. When your browser loads a page, it may request files from them, and at that moment they can see your IP address (this is how the web works for any site). They do not receive your PDF files or contact details.

We pick these providers for their good privacy and security track records, and each has its own privacy policy.

How we protect your information

The whole site is served over a secure, encrypted connection (HTTPS). For browser-based tools, your files stay on your own device, the safest place for them. For the server-powered operations listed above (conversions and the PDF Editor's text-edit and background-removal features), files are deleted from our server the instant your result is ready. For the contact messages we do receive, we keep them only as long as needed to help you.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data. We are happy to honour them. In plain terms, you can ask us to:

To make any of these requests, just email us at info@mingovex.com and we will take care of it.

Compliance with GDPR and CCPA

PDFMingo is built to respect the major privacy laws, and our privacy-first design makes that straightforward.

GDPR (for visitors in the EU and UK). We follow the principle of data minimisation, we collect as little as possible, and in most cases nothing at all. Where we do process the contact details you send, our lawful basis is your consent and our legitimate interest in replying to you. You can exercise your GDPR rights (access, correction, deletion, objection and portability) at any time using the email above.

CCPA / CPRA (for visitors in California). We do not sell or share your personal information, and we never have. You have the right to know what we collect and to request its deletion. Because we do not collect personal information for advertising, there is nothing to opt out of, but you are always welcome to contact us with any request.

Children's privacy

PDFMingo is a general-purpose tool and is not aimed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal details through the contact form, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we update how the tools work, we will update this page and change the "last updated" date at the top. Because the privacy-first design is the whole point of PDFMingo, any future changes will keep this same approach: process as little as possible, keep nothing.
